My name is Kyle Ritter and I run BarFly.

If you are not a "foodie", why did you start this site?

I use sites like ORblogs.com on a daily basis. As a matter of fact, I love that site. I'm very much borrowing ideas from it. If I was a genius, I'd flat out steal it, but I'm not that smart. Since my main biz is about Portland's nightlife, I can often gleen excellent new tips and tidbits from the restaurant blogs listed there. However, that has come with greater difficulty as of late due to the reasons listed below.

The tedium of sifting through:
1. Mundane posts entitled Wheee - Winter Wonderland!!! every single time a snowflake manages to survive the perilous journey to terra firma.
2. Paranoid political
3. Posts starting with "Well today I..."
4. Pictures of ugly babies with cutesy little captions like OOOOhhh Wootsy so Cutesy

So the answer to this question is: I set up a site to pull in blog feeds that are about eating and drinking in Portland. I micro-niched ORblogs.com so that I could help myself to the latest dirt. Take that, sucka.
